Chief Engineer, Construction and Maintenance
Alamo Regional Mobility Authority
Mr. Dale Stein serves as the Chief Engineer for Construction and Maintenance for the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, the local entity responsible for improving mobility by accelerating needed transportation projects to deliver congestion relief and enhance the economic vitality of the region.
In this role, Mr. Stein is responsible for the construction oversight of all Alamo RMA projects. Prior to joining the Alamo RMA, Mr. Stein worked 28 year with the Texas Department of Transportation, spending the last 13 years of his career as the Bexar 410 Area Engineer, with responsibilities for the design, construction, and maintenance of all state owned roadways within the western half of Bexar County.
During his career with TxDOT Mr. Stein has served as the Area Engineer for Guadalupe County, overseeing all design, construction, and maintenance for state owned roadways within Guadalupe County and northeast Bexar County. Prior to being named Area Engineer, Mr. Stein served in the Special Design Office for the San Antonio District, serving as the first BRINSAP Engineer, which required inspecting, and load rating over 1,500 bridges within the San Antonio District, a 12 county region in south and central Texas.
Among his numerous design and construction projects in this region, Mr. Stein did all the bridge design for the Loop 1604 / IH 35 interchange on the northeast part of Bexar County and the construction of LP 410 on the north and west part of Bexar County including the IH 10/LP410 Interchange.
Mr. Stein holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A &M University and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. He and his wife Karen have been married for over 30 years and have four children and two granddaughters.
